Recently, our team partnered with ActBlue to create a professional headshot station during the 2026 Hawaii Democratic Party State Convention at Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki. The conference brought together delegates, community leaders, nonprofit professionals, organizers, elected officials, and multiple attendees from across Hawaii and the mainland with various backgrounds.
Rather than offering a simple photo booth experience, the goal was to provide attendees with studio-quality portraits that they could use for LinkedIn, organizational websites, campaign materials, speaking engagements, press releases, and professional branding.
Bringing a Professional Headshot Studio to the Conference
For this event, we built a complete mobile portrait studio inside the conference venue. The setup included professional lighting, seamless backdrops, tethered image review, and a streamlined workflow designed specifically for high volume conferences.
One of the biggest challenges with conference headshots is balancing speed with quality. Attendees often have sessions, meetings, and networking events throughout the day, so the process needs to be efficient while still producing a portrait that feels polished and intentional.
Each participant was able to step into the studio, spend a few minutes being photographed, and immediately review their images with our Digital Tech.

A feature that attendees especially appreciated was the ability to select their favorite images before leaving the station.
Rather than waiting weeks to see hundreds of proofs, participants could review their portraits immediately with a member of our team and choose the image they preferred.
This process eliminates guesswork, speeds up delivery, and ensures each participant receives a final portrait they're genuinely excited to use.
Having a dedicated Digital Tech also allowed photographers to stay focused on lighting, posing, expression, and creating the strongest images possible while attendees received personalized assistance with image selection.

After the event, each selected image went through our professional retouching workflow.
Retouching included subtle refinements such as:
